About the Conference
The DWN Member Conference will be held at the Motif Seattle Hotel in Seattle, WA on June 23 - 25, 2022. DWN’s conference is an important opportunity for members to connect and engage through networking, information sharing, education, and skills-building trainings.
Please note that this conference is intended for current DWN members and invited allies. If you or your organization are not a member but are interested in joining DWN and attending the conference, please contact membership@detentionwatchnetwork.org.
Due to capacity limitations, we ask that each organization send no more than two participants. If you would like to send more than two participants, please reach out to conference@detentionwatchnetwork.org. We will decide on a case-by-case basis, dependent on available space.
DWN takes COVID risk management seriously, and is committed to the health and wellbeing of our members and vendors. We will be closely monitoring caseloads nationwide and in the Seattle area leading up to the conference. Throughout the conference, we will have COVID protocols in place, including expectations around social distancing, masking, rapid tests. We highly encourage all participants to be fully vaccinated as a form of collective care, and will ask for proof of vaccination upon check-in (will also accept a negative PCR result from within 48 hours). We will communicate transparently with all participants if there are any changes in these protocols, logistics, or programming due to COVID, and appreciate everyone’s flexibility and patience during these unprecedented times.

*Within DWN, a person with experience in detention refers to members who have been formerly incarcerated in immigrant detention and/or who are facing deportation.
Travel and Lodging Info
DWN has reserved a block of discounted hotel rooms at the Motif Seattle Hotel that conference participants are eligible to book at our group rate. Hotel rooms in our room block are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Rooms are available for the nights of:
- Wednesday, June 22nd
- Thursday, June 23rd
- Friday, June 24th
Discounted room rate: $269 per person per night plus tax.
For Covid safety measures, we are recommending that participants book individual rooms.
To book a hotel room at the Motif Seattle with our group rate, please fill out the necessary information while registering. We will add you to our room block, and confirm your lodging reservation by Friday, June 3rd. You will be required to present a credit card upon check-in and charged for your room, plus any incidentals, by the Motif the day of your check-out.
We encourage you to book your travel to Seattle sooner rather than later, before flight prices go up!

DWN offers a limited number of scholarships for attendance. At this time, all scholarship slots are filled.

Información sobre el Hospedaje y Transito
DWN ha reservado un bloque de habitaciones de hotel con descuento en el Hotel Motif Seattle que les participantes de la conferencia pueden reservar con nuestra tarifa de grupo. Las habitaciones de hotel en nuestro bloque de habitaciones están disponibles por orden de llegada. Los cuartos están disponibles para las noches de:
- miércoles, 22 de junio
- jueves, 23 de junio
- viernes, 24 de junio
Tarifa de habitación con descuento: $269 por persona por noche más impuestos.
Por medidas de seguridad de Covid, recomendamos que les participantes reserven habitaciones individuales. Para reservar una habitación de hotel en el Motif Seattle con nuestra tarifa de grupo, complete la información necesaria al registrarse. Le agregaremos a nuestro bloque de habitaciones y confirmaremos su reservación de alojamiento antes del 3 de junio. Se le pedirá que presente una tarjeta de crédito al momento de registrarse y el hotel Motif le cobrará por su habitación, más cualquier gasto adicional, el día de su salida del hotel. Le recomendamos reservar su viaje a Seattle lo antes posible, ¡antes de que suban los precios de los vuelos! La conferencia tendrá lugar del 23/06/2022 a las 9:00 a. m. al 25/06/2022 a las 04:00 p. m. (hora del Pacífico)
